Primary Three is the first class in Key Stage One. We now stay in school until 3pm on Monday and Tuesday during the first term and then also on Wednesday from January onwards.
Our topics during the year include Food and Farming, Cold Lands, Houses and Homes and Pirates.
The children will be involved in many different activities during topic work such as literacy, numeracy, art and craft, investigations, cookery and games. These practical activities will extend their knowledge of how the world works in an interesting and fun way. They will also take part in trips and have visitors come to the classroom to help bring their experiences to life.
During the second term, Primary 3 are involved in the preparations for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Father O’Hagan, our parish priest, will celebrate the sacrament in St.Patrick’s Church during Lent. This is a very important occasion for the class and one in which they always participate with enthusiasm and reverence.
