Rules and Guidance
Playground Rules
We play together and choose games which don’t hurt others.
We let other children get on with their own games.
When the bell rings we stop playing and and walk to line up promptly and quietly.
We show respect to all grown ups by listening to them and looking at them if they are speaking.
We always put our rubbish in the bin.
We tidy up our games.
We only play on permitted areas.
We speak to a teacher or adult if there is anything wrong.
We use the Garden with respect and we do not litter.
Dining Hall Rules
We wait sensibly in the dinner queue.
We are polite to the servers.
We say please and thank you.
We listen to the dinner supervisors and do as we are asked.
We sit properly and walk at all times.
We don’t speak with our mouths full.
We use our knife and fork.
We finish our food before we stand up.
We talk quietly and only to the people at our table.
We pick up any food we drop.
We use the one-way system.
Healthy Eating/Drink To Think
Children are asked to bring a healthy snack consisting of only fruit and/or vegetables and a drink of water for break. If you do not like to eat the skin of fruit, please peel it at home and bring it to school in a plastic box or bag. A fruit salad is particularly enjoyable and nutritious. Each child has been issued with a water bottle.
Help keep your child healthy and focused by supporting our attempts to encourage healthy eating and drinking.
Lunch Snacks
Please ensure that all cartons e.g. yoghurt/juice are contained in a plastic bag. These can cause havoc in school bags if they inadvertently crack or burst open.
You should also bring your own spoon clearly marked with your name
for yoghurt etc.
Hot flasks should be avoided.
Child Protection
If you feel worried about something or if you wish to acknowledge how you are, or have been treated there are 2 things to remember:
a) You may wish to talk to someone you are close to
b) You may wish to inform someone at school
What do I do?
Remember you have close friends who may be able to help, or an older boy or girl to whom you may feel you can turn.
The first person you should talk to is Mrs McGrattan (Acting Designated Officer for Child Protection) and Mr O'Prey (Acting Deputy Designated Officer).
Your class teacher or Principal is also ready to help or any other member of staff you know and to whom you feel you can comfortably talk.
There may be times when you feel you can’t talk with a member of staff – this
is perfectly alright and natural. Talk, telephone or write to any of the following:
The Designated Officer – Mrs McGrattan
Deputy Designated Officer – Mr O'Prey
Your parents
The chaplain – Fr O'Hagan
The school medical officer - School Nurse - 91510190
Child line - 0800 1111
NSPCC - 0808 800 5000
